Jimmy Bartz joined the All Saints' staff in May of 2002 and serves as Associate Rector for Newcomer Incorporation and Small Groups and as a board me4mber of ASA. Born June 12, 1970 in Houston, Texas, Jimmy last served as Chaplain at the University of Texas in Austin before coming to
Los Angeles.

The decision to answer the call to All Saints' was not made lightly. "I came to All Saints' because of the community and collegiality. The parish struck me as a place willing to take the risks I believe the Gospel demands.

"In my mind, the areas of newcomer incorporation and small groups tackle two of the toughest issues the Christian community faces today. How is it we really welcome the stranger into our midst?
And, I mean REALLY, not just a handshake and a hello! And, how are people who are already incorporated into the community transformed over and over again? I think the answer is small groups."

Jimmy and Cindy - married in 1995 - are first-time parents of Jas, who was born on June 12, 2001 (same birthday as Jimmy, you may notice). Cindy is a social worker by training. She received her MSW from Univ. of Texas 1995.
Jimmy received a B.A. in History from U.T. in 1994.

He went on to work in a suburban church plant for a year as a youth minister in suburban Houston. He then spent two years at St. Martin's in Houston as Youth Coordinator. fter that, it was off to Virginia Seminary from 1996 to 1999, then back to Austin to serve as Chaplain at U.T. for three years.
