Thomas Foster holds degrees in organ performance from Syracuse University and the New England Conservatory of Music. From 1976 - 2003 he was Director of Music at All Saints' Episcopal Church, Beverly Hills, California where the Choir came to prominence through its concert tours, commissioned works, and four recordings for Gothic Records.

Mr. Foster has served as a faculty member of summer Episcopal church music conferences throughout the US and has been a lecturer/conductor in numerous dioceses as well as at Virginia Theological Seminary and the Institute of Sacred Music at Yale University. He is a contributor to the Episcopal Hymnal 1982 and is a past president of the Association of Anglican Musicians.

In 1999 Mr. Foster was made an honorary canon of the Cathedral Center of St. Paul in the Diocese of Los Angeles.

Since 2003 Mr. Foster has served as interim musician at various Episcopal churches throughout the country, including St. John's Cathedral, Albuquerque, Grace Cathedral, San Francisco and most recently at St. Paul's Cathedral, Buffalo. During that time, he has performed as organ recitalist in New York, Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles, Chicago, Nashville and Seattle. He is currently Interim Musician at Epiphany Parish in Seattle.
